Therapeutic
Techniques
Because we recognize that each body
system is different, our practice
integrates multiple therapeutic
techniques into your rehabilitation
program. In order to accomplish each
individuals goals, whether
returning to sports, work, or activities
of daily living, our services will be
progressive as well as flexible. We
create programs to focus on individual
needs, and do not force our patients into
a preset program.
Some of the techniques that may be used
in your program are:
Myofascial Release
Techniques: A soft tissue
technique that affects the connective
tissue system. Treatment of myofascial
dysfunction will enhance movement and
flexibility, improve posture and relieve
pain.
Mobilization: A soft
tissue approach providing movement at the
joint surfaces of the spine, arm and leg
joints. Pain is decreased and movement is
increased with this technique.
Craniosacral Therapy: A
non-invasive technique that addresses the
restrictions and tensions of the Dura
Mater, which is connective tissues that
envelops the brain and spinal cord.
Visceral Fascial Release:
A gentle manual technique that mobilizes
the soft tissue surrounding the internal
organs.
Muscle Energy Techniques:
A gentle, soft tissue approach to
normalize joint motion throughout the
pelvis, spine, arms, legs and rib cage.
Neurodevelopmental Training
Techniques: Normalizes muscle
tone and facilitates quality movement.
Stabilization Techniques:
For strengthening of coordinated and
integrated functional body movements.
With each program, traditional
therapeutic techniques are utilized.
However, we also believe in a more
functional approach when developing a
rehabilitation program. In order to
obtain your goals, it is key to exercise
all planes of the body, including the
frontal, sagittal and transverse planes.
We also feel that it is important to
integrate core strengthening exercises,
thus offering support to your spine, and
upper and lower extremities. We will help
you to understand the reasons behind the
exercises, and how they will help you
achieve your goals.
